Be part of our EHS team as an HSE Manager (Site based) in Riyadh, KSA.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Ensure the working environment is safe and secure for all employees within the Project Execution.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of HSE personnel with a workforce of about 450–500 employees at the site.
  • Design safety, health, and environmental programs for the site and implement them effectively.
  • Design and structure HSE programs and ensure proper implementation across operations.
  • Lead accident investigations, formulate reports, and conduct effective analysis to identify leading indicators.
  • Contribute to developing new HSE standards and techniques, ensuring innovation, clarity, and compliance.
  • Ensure the HSE team is proactively managed and continuously trained, identifying CPD requirements and implementing training plans.
  • Review HSE policies to ensure they remain updated and aligned with current trends; assess HIRA, JSA, and other risk tools.
  • Develop and implement new procedures to reinforce operational controls, inspections, SUSA audits, and compliance activities.
  • Design and conduct various training programs and ensure HSE policies and procedures are followed.
  • Conduct safety audits and create awareness among employees regarding safety obligations.
  • Ensure safety comments and complaints are documented, disciplinary actions are applied when required, and report violations to higher authorities.
  • Ensure safe execution of installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
  • Embed HSE into project planning and contractor management.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor HSE performance.

What do I need to qualify for the role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in health & safety in an industrial or project-based environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading and managing a team of HSE personnel and a large on-site workforce.
  • Excellent skills in writing incident and investigation reports and developing HSE policies.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, and diligence.
  • Familiarity with international standards such as ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015, as well as local HSE regulations.
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills, with the ability to drive positive changes and promote a safe work culture.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders; experience working across diverse cultural environments.
  • Lead Auditor certification in ISO 45001:2018 or ISO 14001:2015 is a plus.
  • IOSH membership or equivalent association is an advantage.
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD) is a plus.
