Become part of our team at Vanderlande Logistics as a Platform Developer.

We are looking for a new member to join our Technology & Innovations Team, which provides the OpenAir Platform as a foundation for our software products. You will work in an exciting

environment where our software platform — built on cutting-edge technologies — is deployed both on-premises and in the cloud for the world’s largest airports.

What are the responsibilities?

• Act as a core developer of our enterprise-wide software platform, designing and implementing essential services, processes, and components.

• Platform services include, e.g., security/authentication, orchestration, application deployment/monitoring, user/device management, cost monitoring, or billing.

• Select and maintain underlying technologies and align product architecture across teams.

• Provide development guidelines, automation processes, and tools to support product development.

• Develop and maintain core platform services (e.g., message brokers, container orchestration, authentication, persistence) while integrating third-party technologies.

• Ensure ease of implementation, clear configuration options, and excellent documentation.

• Automate development, quality assurance, and release processes (CI/CD) and provide development tools.

• Contribute to the migration of existing software products to a unified target platform.

What do you need to qualify for this job?

• Have strong programming skills in one or more of: TypeScript/Node.js, Go, or Java

• Are comfortable scripting in bash or Python to automate tasks

• Care about testing quality (e.g., Jasmine, Playwright, k6, or similar)

• Use DevOps tools daily (e.g., npm, Maven, GitLab, CI/CD)

• Know containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Have experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and their core services

• Understand web and security fundamentals (HTTP, HTML, OIDC, JWT, and relevant OSI/ISO concepts)

• Have worked with databases and messaging (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB,

Kafka) and search/analytics (Elastic)

• Communicate clearly in English and enjoy collaborating across teams

• Bring strong analytical skills and an ownership mindset

 

Nice to have

• Experience in large-scale, distributed systems and high-availability architectures

• Background in airport/transport, industrial, or safety-critical domains

• Observability know-how (metrics, logs, traces), SRE practices, or performance tuning • Security by- -design mindset and familiarity with standards/compliance

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).

• Practical experience in a corporate or production environment is ideal, but strong

personal or open-source projects also count.
