We are seeking a dynamic Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our highly skilled Engineering team in Dubai, bringing a positive, can-do attitude and collaborative spirit. This role may require temporary relocation within the Middle East or to other countries for project assignments.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Prepare mechanical layouts using software such as Revit, Autodesk Inventor, and AutoCAD.
  • Apply hands-on experience working in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) environment.
  • Develop detailed manufacturing drawings.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, including Electrical, Steelworks, PLC, IT, etc.
  • Prepare BOM, BOQ, and RFQ for mechanical equipment procurement in line with project specifications.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to finalize equipment as per specifications and follow SAP processes for material ordering.
  • Prepare and submit design documentation (O&M manuals, material submittals, functional descriptions, etc.) for client approval.
  • Review and address client comments regarding contract requirements and supplier specifications.
  • Coordinate building interfaces, considering space requirements, architectural collisions, accessibility, and safety.
  • Verify building drawings (MEP, FLS, Architecture, Structure, etc.) against layouts and generate clash reports or drawings.
  • Create and manage installation drawings, including sections and supporting documentation like clash reports.
  • Conduct project site visits for design surveys, handle site problem reports, and resolve open points.
  • Respond to site technical queries, assist with snagging, and support installation and commissioning teams on-site as needed.
  • Prepare accurate as-built documentation.
  • Coordinate technically with sales departments, consultants, customers, and suppliers as required.
  • Adhere to established engineering standards and procedures.
  • Maintain focus on quality and client satisfaction.

What do I need to qualify for the role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 5+ years of experience, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of design experience in Baggage/Cargo Handling Systems or other conveying/logistics technologies.
  • Proficient in Revit, with experience in AutoCAD 2D & 3D software (e.g., Inventor, Navisworks); exposure to ACC environment is an added advantage.
  • Experience working with bid management teams, reviewing technical tender requirements and preparing quantity estimates (Engineering hours / BOQ / BOM).
  • Knowledge of SAP systems and ability to create new material numbers is a plus.
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
  • Ability to work effectively in an international environment.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment safety standards (e.g., Machine Directive, EU Norms).
  • Experience in structural calculations is a plus.
